09/09/07 0 CommentsCan I get a York York ? ;-)
woohooo... York rawked! (yup - even more than blue hair!) Can I get a Woot-Woot for York-York? ;-)
What an awesome Carrie performance! I think Carrie and the band knew this was their last time on stage for awhile and they went out in style. We had vocally amazing Carrie, happy Carrie, funny Carrie, chatty Carrie, silly Carrie, and even rocker electric guitar playin Carrie. ;-)
As an added surprise, Carrie added the Fleetwood Mac cover "Go your own way" to the encore. (I still say Carrie said Mark C. was responsible for the bonus - but no one else heard that.. lol) The faces she made jamming on guitar with Ed were priceless!
I had great seats in the 8th row on the Ed side. If you look at the pics below you might think it was just Ed and Carrie on stage..haha..but these were some of the best candid shots of the night.
At the end of IAICA the entire band came over and surprised Carrie when she was on the Shawn side of the stage. (last pic) We even got to hear Ed sing... haha
I'll post all the pics I have on Carriefans later. Look for them there.

ps: It seems a little sad that this was the last big show of the year. :-(
I'm sure the next tour will be here before we know it - with awesome new songs off the new cd. Who knows maybe the peeps running the fan club will get their act together and offer good seats to dedicated Carrie fans! (hey I can dream can't I?) ;-)
Thank you Carrie for always giving your all at every show. I'm sure there were nights you didn't feel 100%, but we never knew. You never cancelled a show and you always thanked your fans every time I saw ya. Thanking goes both ways - so thank you for always caring about your fans and putting on an amazing show!

Here are a few pics from Allentown (last Sunday). Not the best seats - 2nd row, but way off to the side. The lighting wasn't real great either. But still it was Carrie - and a bad seat is better than no seat at all!
A quick Allentown story - I got to my downtown hotel around 1:00 pm - no room was available yet. I came back around 2:30 and still nothing, so I sat in the lobby and waited. Who comes down to the front desk? Keith Dean...lol. (Carrie's tour manager) I said "Hi Keith" and Keith does a double take and says hi...lol.
I finally check in and get my room. I go up and drop off my bags and about a half hour later head outside for a bit. I get in the elevator and head down to the lobby - the elevator door opens in the lobby - who is waiting to get in? Keith Dean....lol. Keith taps me on the shoulder and says "How ya doin?" - I laugh and ask if he's followin me. Keith laughs and says "Always." ;-)
About 45 minutes later I head back to my room. Up the elevator to the 8th floor, I walk down the hall and start to open the door to my room # 819. Somebody opens the door next to me at room # 820 and heads out with their bags packed. Guess who? Yup... Keith Dean... lmao
I didn't say a word this time. It was just too weird... haha.. plus I figured Carrie was up on that 8th floor and I didn't want to seem like I was hanging around to check her out.
Of course after that, I tied my bedsheets together and just climbed out the window and shimmied down like a prison escape to leave my hotel room. ;-)
I did see some of the band in the hotel lobby so I waved and wished them all a good show. I'm not a good groupie I know. :-)
OK, on to the pics. (click on each pic for a larger view) I finally got a good one of Ashley running across the stage woohoo... After about 40 tries, I figured I should be good for one. ;-)

A quick blog to post a few Carrie pics from Syracuse.
I've been so busy this week, I haven't had a chance to post yet. (that's what happens when you take off from work on Monday to return from Carrie adventures.) ;-)
This weekend we get to do it all over again! Woohoo - Allentown, PA.
I'll post all the pics I have on Carriefans later. Look for them there.

07/22/07 0 CommentsCarrie and the Delaware tease
Last night Carrie was at the Delaware State Fair - and so was I. hmmm...Maybe it was just a coincidence? (I mean I LOVE little Dellywhere, but who knew Carrie did too?) ;-)
Lady Antebellum opened for Carrie and did a good job. Never heard of them before, but they were better than a lot of opening acts I've seen.
Carrie sounded great, had lots of energy and even gave us some cute ad lib quotes between songs to remember.
OK... the tease. Half way thru the show -Ashley and fiddle move to the left front of the stage with a spotlight on him. The band starts to play a song we have never heard before! The second spotlight shines on Carrie.....
Could this be? Was this the new single? Cameras were ready. Videos were set to record. There were pangs of excitement and anticipation on the part of all CFers in attendance and true blue Carrie fans!
Alas... it was not to be. It was just a different intro into "I'll Stand By You". Funny thing was when we met up after the show, that was the first thing out of our mouth to each other.
Did you think that was the new single? Yes! Me Too!.... hahaIt was great to hear the Skid Row cover -I Remember You. This was my first time hearing it live. (I heard the version someone capped at an earlier show - and thought - hmmm... it's good, but I'm not blown away) Well hearing it live - I WAS blown away! Awesome job Carrie! What energy. What vocals.
Also it was the first time I think I've heard "Alone" as part of the encore. Another great move. The crowd loved it.
Oh yeah - the cute ad lib. Carrie was talking about her mom in the DFTRM video. She told the crowd, that was her REAL mom, not just an actress playing the part. Yes - it was her real mom playing the part of her mom. (it was one of those cute classic moments when Carrie realizes she is talking more than normal - and tries to shut up and sing as quickly as possible...lol)
Finally Carrie says - "Mom - getting her acting thing on"..."ok, guys start playing the next song so I'll stop talking" LOLCarrie didn't sign afterwards - but the set-up really wasn't that great. The merch booth was outside of the venue on the fairgrounds. (so everyone outside the concert could get in line too! - it would have been a security nightmare.)
The lighting at this show when it started was terrible. I didn't think I would get ANY good pics. (reminded me of Tulsa - it was like monster truck headlights behind the stage blinding us... lol)
As the concert went on the lighting got better. I'll post a couple of pics here -the rest of them you can find on the phtobucket link below. Enjoy!
The lighting at the start. (I was 13th row - center) It looked like the Monster trucks got to Delaware a day early. ;-)

That bright light is not my cameras fault!

Carrie with Mark Childers. (edited: not Oakley...duh, I knew that..lol...y'all are paying attention- good!) You can barely get a glimpse of new drummer, Garrett Goodwin on the right.

An interesting Carrie face. Intense even!
